Inventive talent forges a global market leader. The 120-year history of the Haas company

Our origins trace back to 1905, when master locksmith Josef Haas received an official permit to operate a workshop for repairing machines and engines. This step laid the cornerstone of the Haas family business.  In 1948, his son Franz Haas designed the first wafer baking machine called HV6. In 1966, together with his wife Maria, he founded the Franz Haas Waffelmaschinen company.

Over the following decades, Haas evolved into a global market leader in the field of production systems for wafers, biscuits, crackers, cakes, ice cream cones and other baked goods, operating its own production plants in 6 countries.

In 2018, the Haas family decided to transfer the company to Bühler, a Swiss family-owned company and market leader in the field of production equipment for chocolate mass.

In 2020, nearly 115 years after the opening of our first workshop, Nidum Capital was established. Our heritage and passion for innovation is what forms the foundation of Nidum. Our mission is clear: creating the world of tomorrow.
